The Bitten Peach
The Bitten Peach is a UK based, queer, pan-Asian cabaret production company. Their mission is to empower and uplift the queer-Asian community. Over the past six years, they have worked with over 150 performers of Asian descent spanning a variety of art forms on and offstage, including drag, burlesque, dance, comedy, music, spoken word and circus.
Queer Asian Expression
We had the pleasure of the capturing the behind-the-scenes of their annual photoshoot for the Year of The Dragon over the course of two days. I wanted to bring their mission, community and Asian joy to the forefront of the project .
It was mix of talking heads of their directors along with the heartwarming and candid interactions of The Bitten Peach community echoing the safe space they have fostered. It was show of the diversity, expression and celebration of a community breaking stereotypes with bright colour and unapologetic authenticity.
